Your ACCESS technician will help you determine if your suppression system and fire extinguishers are up to code and will give you a free no obligation bid to upgrade to code compliance. We will work with you to assure the least amount of down time even if it means working beyond normal business hours. We will work with local fire protection agencies to help you obtain the necessary permits to obtain compliance.
Our technicians will develop a service schedule based on your needs, equipment, and applicable codes. Service inspections are performed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and/or maintenance on an annual basis depending on the size and type of the operation involved. ACCESS uses the latest state-of-the-art equipment to provide you with the most efficient and accurate service available. Our service quality is assured through the use of color coded seals and tags.
ACCESS also affixes external collar labels on dry chemical extinguishers when six-year maintenance is performed. Our sales and service personnel will help identify which equipment is needed and offer advice on placement to satisfy National Fire Association Standards. Our vehicles are equipped for on site service and recharging.

Monthly Inspection = a visual inspection to determine if the extinguisher is charged properly. Chemical stir to prevent compaction of powder extinguishing agent. Rehanging of extinguisher.

Annual Inspection/Certifications = a visual inspection to determine if the extinguisher is charged properly, confirming the hose is clear and that the extinguisher is hung properly and without obstructions. Chemical stir to prevent compaction of powder extinguishing agent. Certification tagging and rehanging. Must be performed by a certified technician.
6-Year Teardowns/Certification = Includes removal of the extinguishing agent, replacement of worn parts, refill and repressurize, certification tagging and rehanging. Must be performed by a certified technician.
12-Year Hydrostatic Test/Certification = pressure testing of an extinguishers critical components (cylinder, shell, hose assembly, etc.) for leaks and structural flaws by pressurizing them with a liquid. Certification tagging and rehanging. Must be performed by a certified technician.
Inspection and maintenance shall be done by a properly trained, qualified, and certified company or person(s). All actuation components shall be checked for proper operation during the inspection. Fusible links shall be replaced at least semiannually or more frequently if necessary where required by the manufacturer.
Details of work required by Underwriters Laboratories for the kitchen suppression systems:
All Kitchen suppression systems manufactured before 1994 must be upgraded to prevent fire reignition. There must be an automatic control shutoff valve to electrical and gas sources.
